As a fervent advocate of good governance, Dr. Nancy Muriuki serves as Chair of the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examination Board (KASNEB), a position she has held since 2019.

Despite the challenges posed by the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic during her tenure, KASNEB, under her chairmanship, has achieved commendable milestones. These include the successful development of a competency-based curriculum and the launch of a new syllabus in July 2021. Driven by a commitment to innovation, she spearheaded the introduction of computer-based exams for the lower levels, contributing to a more efficient examination process. Moreover, KASNEB’s improved financial performance, under her strategic guidance, has solidified its status as a self-sustaining parastatal.

 Currently, Dr. Muriuki is at the forefront of a visionary mission aimed at cultivating ‘globally recognised and empowered business professionals’. She is leading a strategic initiative to transform KASNEB into a digital entity and secure global recognition for KASNEB qualifications, as outlined in the current strategic plan for the period 2022-2027.

 Moreover, since 2022, Dr. Muriuki has chaired the Board of Management (BOM) at Kithirune Girls Secondary School in Meru, where she passionately works towards establishing a ‘Center of Excellence for moulding world-class, Godly, and self-reliant female leaders’. Her dedicated leadership actively shapes the school’s vision, emphasising academic excellence and fostering the development of principled female leaders.

 Additionally, Dr. Muriuki served as a board member of the Kenya Accreditation Service (KAS) from 2016 to 2023. During her tenure, she chaired several pivotal committees, including Audit and Risk, Human Resources (HR), Finance, and Technical.

 Concurrently, from 2016 to 2019, she served as Chair of Charles New Methodist Church in Nairobi, where her visionary leadership played a key role in advancing the church’s physical and organisational development.

 Beyond her roles in board leadership, Dr. Muriuki is a seasoned consultant specialising in leadership and governance. In addition to her consultancy work, she serves as an adjunct lecturer at Pan Africa Christian (PAC) University, imparting her wealth of knowledge and experience to the next generation of leaders.

 Dr. Muriuki also holds the distinguished position of Founder at Africa Success Enhancement Lab (ASEL), where she passionately dedicates herself to training both current and aspiring leaders. Established in 2017, the core focus of ASEL lies in cultivating servant leadership principles, with a particular emphasis on building immunity to corruption.

 Dr. Muriuki devoted a decade of her professional career to Amref Health Africa, where she initially served as Corporate HR Manager and later ascended to Director of HR. During her term of office, she spearheaded various transformative projects, including the establishment of the company secretarial function.

One of her notable achievements was the initiation of a staff leadership development program, which eventually evolved into the globally recognised Global Executive Master of Business Administration (GEMBA) degree in Health Leadership and Management. This collaborative program between Amref and the United States International University – Africa (USIU-A) was a groundbreaking initiative. Dr. Muriuki also served as faculty, teaching strategic Human Resource for Health (HRH) Management. By 2016, over 100 health leaders had undergone training through the program.

 Dr. Muriuki holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Organisational Leadership from Regent University, USA, complemented by a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree and a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree from the University of Nairobi (UoN).

 She is a Certified Secretary (CS) and has a Diploma in Management from the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM). Dr. Muriuki also holds a Certificate of Competence for Doctoral Supervisors in African Universities from Stellenbosch University, South Africa. Further, she recently achieved qualification as a Governance Auditor through the Institute of Certified Secretaries (ICS).

 She is a member of the Institute of Human Resource Management Kenya (IHRM-K), KIM, ICS, the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership, and The Mixed Methods Research International Association (MMRI).

 Dr. Muriuki has received esteemed recognition for her contributions, including the title of one of the ‘100 Global Most Influential HR Professionals’ and the prestigious ‘Women Leadership Award’. Both accolades were conferred by the World Human Resource Development (HRD) Congress held in Mumbai, India.

 It is worthy to note that she has authored multiple publications and delivered numerous conference presentations, further solidifying her reputation as a thought leader and influential figure in the field of HR and leadership.

 Through her multifaceted roles, Dr. Muriuki continues to be a guiding force, shaping leadership practices and fostering ethical leadership within diverse spheres.

 Outside the realms of work, she delights in the simple joys of quality time with her family, savouring the warmth and connection that family brings.
