Pamela Lopokoiyit often cites her favourite quote by Peter Drucker, “The best way to predict the future is to create it.”

In the dynamic world of corporate communications, the mantra, ‘the future is ours to create’ resonates deeply. Few embody this philosophy better than Pamela, a seasoned marketer whose 16-year career has been marked by innovation, leadership, and a commitment to excellence.

A strategic thinker adept at both high-level strategy and establishing foundational elements for success, Pamela has championed award-winning campaigns that exemplify her focus on brand innovations, changing brand narratives, and leveraging new media and alternative channels for product positioning. Her insights into both offline and online marketing have created a niche for her in the industry, allowing her to resonate deeply with brands in the market.

Currently, Pamela serves as Marketing Manager at Crown Paints Kenya PLC, a role that is both challenging and rewarding. At the paint company, she leads local and regional marketing teams, overseeing corporate communication, thought leadership, online growth strategy, public relations (PR), trade marketing, branding, and overall marketing strategy.

Pamela expresses that the company is passionate about maintaining a reputation for innovation and excellence. “Crown Paints has been a ground that has trained and shaped my career and professional acumen,” she states. She also highlights the company’s supportive culture for women in leadership, particularly in the traditionally male-dominated manufacturing sector.

In her previous role at Jubilee Insurance, Pamela spearheaded brand communications, media relations, product development, strategic messaging, and the wellness component of the brand, advocating for healthy living among Kenyans for five years. Notably, she successfully led the product development team in creating new retail products guided by consumer insights. These products were designed to simplify offerings and differentiate Jubilee products from other brands in the value-for-money segment. Additionally, Pamela successfully launched an award-winning digital marketing campaign dubbed ‘Size Yako,’ targeting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Kenya.

Prior to Jubilee, she served in various roles in alternative channels development, business development, and marketing in the English-speaking Africa region. In each of these positions, Pamela demonstrated her ability to drive value and ensure brand communications aligned with the overall strategy.

Her dedication to excellence has not gone unnoticed. In 2022, Pamela was honoured with the African Woman Leader Award by CMO Asia and the World Women Leadership Congress, recognising her significant contributions to the field of marketing and her leadership roles.

Their courage and achievements inspire and motivate Pamela in her professional endeavours.

Additionally, she draws inspiration from Oprah Winfrey, admiring her resilience and unwavering commitment to personal growth and empowerment. Oprah’s ability to overcome adversity, innovate, and continuously evolve has been a guiding light for Pamela in her own journey toward success.

Pamela is passionate about giving back to the community. She recently launched the Bold Steps Podcast, a platform designed to inspire and equip young individuals to take proactive steps towards self-improvement, resilience, and success. “Bold Steps Podcast is my way of giving back to the community by impacting lives.
