KHUSHBOO DHUTIA
HEAD OF ADVISORY & MANAGED INVESTMENTS, WEALTH MANAGEMENT
STANDARD CHARTERED KENYA
As wealth becomes more global, complex and interconnected, Khushboo Dhutia is helping redefine modern investment leadership. At Standard Chartered Kenya, she is championing a decisive shift from product-led conversations to purposeful, globally connected portfolios built around clients’ ambitions, resilience and long-term legacies.
Her mandate spans investment strategy, portfolio construction, advisory and international market access at a time when African wealth is becoming more sophisticated, mobile and interconnected. Her approach begins not with a product, but with a purpose: educating a child, expanding a business, securing retirement or building an intergenerational legacy. From there, each portfolio is aligned with the client’s time horizon, liquidity needs and appetite for risk.
A graduate of City, University of London, and a practising member of the Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts, Khushboo brings 20 years of experience in wealth management and investment advisory. Her leadership blends technical depth with an understanding of client behaviour, long-term financial planning and the judgement to turn complex market signals into clear, practical choices.

That clarity matters in a market crowded with information and opinion. Khushboo believes portfolios should be anchored in desired outcomes, not short-term noise. She has helped embed this discipline in advisory conversations, placing greater emphasis on diversification, resilience and professional oversight.
Standard Chartered’s Today, Tomorrow and Forever framework brings that philosophy to life by connecting immediate needs, future growth and legacy ambitions to a structured investment plan. Khushboo is also widening access to professionally managed, globally diversified solutions. The Signature CIO Funds, for example, give Kenyan clients access to institutional research, strategic asset allocation and continuous portfolio oversight. The focus is not a single performance period, but a resilient investment journey underpinned by governance, insight and disciplined decision-making.

Khushboo has translated strategy into action by moving advisory conversations beyond individual products and towards purposeful portfolio construction, embedding a disciplined, outcomes-led approach, widening access to globally diversified solutions and equipping advisers to turn institutional research into relevant client choices. These actions have strengthened the quality and consistency of advice, deepened client engagement and supported more confident investment decisions. This momentum is reflected in stronger client inflows, the rapid expansion of the SC Shilingi Fund and rising demand for international investments. By the end of 2025, assets under management had reached KSh302 billion—up 29% year on year and fifteenfold over the preceding decade—while international investments grew to 43% of total assets and wealth income rose 11% to KSh5.1 billion.
For Khushboo, these results reflect a business increasingly aligned around client goals, disciplined portfolio construction and global opportunity; her most enduring measure of success, however, is stronger adviser capability, deeper client confidence and the higher standard of advice underpinning that growth.

Looking to 2027, she expects deeper personalisation, wider digital access, stronger global connectivity and a renewed focus on legacy to shape the next chapter of wealth management.
The institutions that lead will use data and technology intelligently without losing the human insight on which trusted advice depends. They will also develop advisers who combine technical competence with empathy, commercial judgement and a genuine understanding of clients’ wider ambitions. Khushboo represents this emerging model of investment leadership: commercially focused, globally connected and firmly anchored in purpose. Her ambition is to help clients create, grow and protect wealth while expanding access to informed investment decisions and greater financial independence. In doing so, she is helping shape a more confident, inclusive and future-ready investment landscape for Kenya and for the generations that follow.
