Jointly funded by the Company and its employees, the Fund is committed to expanding access to education and healthcare for children from disadvantaged backgrounds, creating opportunities for them to thrive while contributing to stronger families and more inclusive communities.
Through the Future Ni Digital programme, Stanbic Kenya Foundation is helping young people, women, and entrepreneurs build the capabilities needed to participate in an increasingly digital economy.
Working with the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), Kenya Forest Service (KFS), WWF Kenya and county governments, the Foundation has supported the restoration of degraded forest landscapes across some of Kenya's most important ecological zones. Its work spans the Aberdare Range, Kaptagat Forest and, most recently, Chepalungu Forest in Bomet County.
The airline sees its daily operations as a response to that reality. Connecting Kenyan exporters to worldwide markets makes it easier to ship tea, coffee, cut flowers, and other agricultural items that support rural communities. By training and hiring Kenyans in specialized aviation professions, it creates human capital that lasts beyond any single trip.
Environmental conservation forms an integral component of Sasini’s community impact because healthy ecosystems directly support rural livelihoods. During 2025, the company reported planting more than 1.4 million trees while restoring riparian ecosystems as part of its broader commitment to planting three million trees by 2030.
Kenya's micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) sector drives the economy, providing a large share of jobs and livelihoods. However, many entrepreneurs, particularly women, young people, and people with disabilities, continue to lack access to funding, business skills, and mentoring.
Access to clean water has transformed thousands of lives through the Sand Dam Project. To date, the Foundation has constructed 47 sand dams in Kenya's semi-arid regions, investing KSh 250 million and serving more than 100,000 people in surrounding communities.
Speaking during the commissioning, Eric Kiniti, EABL’s Group Corporate Relations Director and Managing Director of the EABL Foundation, described the project as more than a water access intervention. “Water is life, but for Thakiki, this is more than just a borehole. This is about restoring dignity, unlocking potential, and securing the future. We are happy to embark on this path with the Thakiki people, investing not only in equipment but also in equity, inclusiveness, and long-term resilience.”
Instead of offering short-term cash help, the foundation invests in training and supporting small businesses. It funds programs that teach young people useful skills like coding, software development, modern farming, and renewable energy repair.
The millions of students, patients, farmers, and families affected across Kenya serve as a quiet reminder of what happens when an institution chooses to invest heavily in human potential rather than rapid financial gains. The M-PESA Foundation is working to create a fairer, self-sufficient future for all Kenyans through community ownership and ambitious, large-scale projects.
